A Beautiful Liberation
Into a Freer Life
In July of 2009, at the age of 91, my dear friend Jake Steiner made his transition into a freer life - after more than ten years of incomparable friendship, a friendship that included our collaboration on two books of his marvelous history. We recorded his deep understanding and his love for beautiful Mt. Baker, its forests and rivers and its people, in the North Cascade range of Washington State.
Because of our undying friendship, Jake was able to show me something of what it was like for the first few days after he made the transition out of his body; and those days were the inspiration for this booklet of The Priceless Series.
So this little volume includes Jake’s story plus six more. The stories are typically from ordinary people who successfully made the transition into death, and then in some way or another were still able to affirm their continuing love to those left behind.
